Our alternator is smaller and lighter than the factory LS alternators, but will fit in all the LS alternator brackets. Chances are it's much better looking than the alternator that came with your engine (if you got one). It has a 130 amp output which is plenty for 99% of all swap vehicles.
Our alternator kit also contains the pigtail exciter to ensure that the alternator will charge even if your harness doesn't have the plug, or if you're doing a carburetor swap(simply attach to the alt and a switched 12V source).
It's also priced very competitively compared to parts store replacement alternators.
IMPORTANT:
These alternators ship with a 2.5" standard pulley. Some LS applications turn very high rpm. With a standard LS balancer, this means alternator RPM is approximately 3x engine RPM. On a 7,000 RPM LS engine, that makes alternator RPM 21,000! These alternators will not live with consistent use in that RPM range.
We recommend putting a larger pulley, such as our 3" unit to drastically cut alternator RPM. Turning the engine 7,000 RPM would only result in an alternator rpm of (approximately) 16,500, which is fine for limited use.

This kit saved my butt with the ls1 and bracket stock alternator was nearly touching frame and really hard to get in! This one went right in with plenty of clearance even the harness was in a way better position on top.
